The Economic Preparedness Pressure Index is the equal-weight mean of percentile ranks for eight documented indicators. Statewide and within-county percentiles are calculated separately. Median household income is reversed; missing components are omitted. The index is contextual, not a wildfire-risk score. Fire hazard is displayed separately and is never included in the index. ACS estimates include sampling error and small differences should not be treated as meaningful.
